Griff began carpentry work with nice man called Jack in Trallwn in 1943! He went on to become a qualified carpenter by apprenticeship many years after that; when apprenticeships lasted a minimum of 5 years! Throughout his life he has worked in a lot of different jobs from Journeyman in the building trade to Youth Training Scheme mentor.
As an early riser he tends to work mostly during early mornings; mainly using manual tools - chisels, saws, rasps and planes to craft his sculptures. All this work is done by his own hands - sometimes the powertools are used; but as with many things in life "more haste less speed".
Comfortably retired Griff still loves to make; generally he spends a few hours, a few days a week working on pieces - sometimes bespoke pieces to order; but mainly fabricating works of art straight from the heart. Recycled material is mainly used the wood being thoroughly examined before being included in a composition - so all the works should remain highly durable for years to come.
